For my son in Heaven...
A collection of diverse songs with a Biblical world view behind them ( not necessarily CCM). Admittedly I know little of the technical side of music but I have found these songs to be powerful with thoughtful, well written lyrics and a beautiful sound.

Starfield - Alive In This Moment (Rock, Worship)
This song is especially important to me as we used it during the baptism service of 4 young men at our youthgroup... I was even able to tell that story to Tim Neufeld.
Fresh I.E. - I Believe ( Hip Hop, Rap)
This is a redo of the original song found on his Grammy nominated album "Red Letterz". I prefer the original but this is the only one I could find on youtube - still great though....
U2 - Grace (Rock, Pop)
While we may not always agree with his methods, it seems to me that Bono is a true believer. I discovered this song shortly after my daughter, Grace, was born. It couldn't be more perfect for her or as a wonderful description of God's amazing grace...
The Cross Movement - Cry No More ( Hip Hop, Rap)
Pioneers of Christian Hip Hop and Rap, The Cross Movement has had a major impact in my life and in the lives of many kids that were in a youthgroup I ran. Cry No More is just one of their many lyrically rich, catchy tunes ....
Live Version:
Switchfoot - Let That Be Enough ( Rock, Pop, Live)
One of Switchfoot's earlier songs. Simple but beautiful. This video catches Jon Foreman singing live on a street corner in Baltimore...
O.C. Supertones - The Shepherd Is the Lamb ( Rock, Ska)
Among my favourite songs of all time...
“
The Incarnation is God’s Grace made evident and obvious.
People
matter.
Life
is sacred.
Men, women
and children are worth the greatest sacrifice, the Supreme Effort, the Ultimate
Gift….”
So
what becomes of those small unwanted souls
Who spend their lives breaking their backs?
Those who dig the gold for the rich and powerful
Who place their feet upon their necks?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Do you understand
That God became a man?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Where can the junkies go when high has laid them low?
Are they truly on their own?
It seems we've lost our way
Like sheep we have gone astray
Can anybody lead us home?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Do you understand
That God became a man?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Do you understand
That God became a man?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Who spend their lives breaking their backs?
Those who dig the gold for the rich and powerful
Who place their feet upon their necks?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Do you understand
That God became a man?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Where can the junkies go when high has laid them low?
Are they truly on their own?
It seems we've lost our way
Like sheep we have gone astray
Can anybody lead us home?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Do you understand
That God became a man?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Do you understand
That God became a man?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
“
It is the amazing manifestation of His unshakeable love..
For
the unloved and the unlovely…
The
weak and the base…
The
unworthy and the unwarranted…
The
rebels and the sinners……
You
and me.”
Who is the champion?
The friend of the suffering?
Of those who were never born?
The King with the crown of thorns
And I'll consecrate a verse
To the kingdom in reverse
Where the least are most
And the last will be the first
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Do you understand
That God became a man?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
The Shepherd is the Lamb
Do you understand
That God became a man?
The Shepherd is the Lamb
